At first, Kawaii Mania looks like yet another match-3 puzzle game, but if you look closer, its gameplay offers a more dynamic and action oriented approach. It doesnt seem like a big deal but the drag & drop is a nice change. It gives you the freedom to move cute elements anywhere on the grid. At the same time, new ones will fill the grid progressively so your speed and strategy skills will be challenged. 3 game modes will each require a different approach: matching elements as fast as possible before the grid is full, planning your moves strategically to chain big combos and using the shape of the grid to collect gems as fast as possible. The game starts easy but once you get the basics, the difficulty increases progressively. There are a bunch of different worlds to explore as you make your way through the levels: colourful fruits, a crazy beach and ridiculously delicious kawaii food And a very angry cannon that can shoot giant bombs! The tone is light hearted and the exaggerated look of the characters adds some fun. They all have expressions that look like they were taken from some crazy Japanese manga. The game is free with no in app-purchase, which is nice for a change. You will be able to reach the end of the game without any annoying popup asking you money. You will get some ads though, but only lightly. Overall Kawaii mania is a cute match 3 game with some original gameplay mechanics that will entertain you and your kids for a while.
