Make sure to organize your contacts

Make sure to organize your contacts

Organizing your contacts is a must-do thing if you want to access them very easily. Make sure to add every one of your important contacts to Favorites. This can be done from your default Contacts app. Any contact can be added to Favorites by tapping the Star icon in the top-right corner. This will add them to your favorites list which is used in the Phone tab. Don't make very big lists since it is dangerous to scroll when you are driving even with this interface. Another very useful thing is to name all of your contacts with their full names. This will prevent situations like having 7 guys named John in your contact list. Google Assistant will work much better if you spend some time and clear your contacts of duplicates. Also make sure to delete all emojis or special characters from contact’s name. These modifications are really handy to avoid scrolling through huge lists of contacts and letting Assistant do its job.

I have been itching to get a car with Android Auto capabilities, and finally got a Ford Explorer with it. I have a Pixel 2 XL, and was able to easily get it set up in a matter of 30 seconds (maybe slightly longer if I hadn't skipped the tutorials). It allows me to have access to any basic functionalities I would need while driving (phone, navigation, and audio apps). I enjoy that the home screen is similar to my phone's notifications, even allows access to the powerful Google Assistant.

- Bradley Gloriani

It's great to be able to put my Google maps, Pandora, and a whole lot of other stuff up on my car's screen. This feature is one of the reasons I bought the car I did and I'm very happy with the decision. It makes any driving experience a better one.
