Through this opportunity we would like to thank all parties that the Coastal Geospatial Laboratory Parangtritis more widely known. It has been almost 10 years of age laboaratorium this trip. Sri Sultan HBX has been pleased to provide land for the founding of this magnificent building. Laying the first stone of this building took place on October 1, 2002 by the Governor with the Chief Bakosurtanal, Regent of Bantul, Dean of the Faculty of Geography and several other officials. Coastal Geospatial Laboratory located in the Coastal Parangtritis has become the new icon as an educational tourist sites. As a logical consequence, then we must continue to improve so that the function of this building as a laboratory, museum and research center study geopesisir become more real and useful. In this year we tried to organize themselves through web creation, publishing newsletters, spatial display and perform a variety of collaborative research kepesisiran namely: ICRI (Integrated Coastal Resources Inventory, the application of remote sensing / geographic information system for the study of coastal dynamics and risk assessment of multi-prone integrated disaster. We do a variety of collaborative research with PUSPICS GMU, GMU Center for the Study of Natural Disasters, and many speakers who came from various universities and research institutions at central and local governments. It is not impossible this year we also established research collaborations with partners abroad. As a form of our concern for young people in coastal areas, we will also hold a Festival Ekotourism Coast. Festival is held every year with the holding potential of young people in techno and art activities. Various scientific writing competition was held and various coastal art will be displayed . Laboratory is managed jointly by the RAN, Faculty of Geography and government of Bantul regency is expected to be more solid stand for the advancement of research studies geopesisir research in Indonesia.
