Here are some reviews about this Android fitness to give you an idea how other people evaluate it.

Great app. I have read a few comments from concerned users about needing to have location services enabled on Android. This doesn't mean that the app is using GPS, or tracking your location. It is a limitation of Google Android Software development tools that force the developers to ask for location permission. If you have a look at the code of the app it becomes obvious that GPS is not used. Trust us computer scientists that know what is going on. No degredation in battery performance noticed.
Great app and easy to use. Geolocation is not recorded. The reason why GPS permission is needed for android devices can be found in the FAQ of the BAG : "In order for the SwissCovid app to work and have access to Bluetooth, on Android devices you have to activate the location function. This is because Bluetooth sharing is coupled to location sharing. This means that the location function has to be activated even if the SwissCovid app never has access to your location via satellite position."
