veQR app for Android review by AndroidFreeware
The QR code security app developed in Venezuela. We often hear about the technological advances of countries that have been subjected to embargoes and sanctions by the United States. The problem is that these "advances" also usually translate into more control over the population, as is the case in Venezuela. This is the case with the application we are talking about, developed by the Bolivarian government and the Patria Platform: veQR.
veQR: QR codes for secure transactions
The system behind this tool is simple: it allows us to register a certain amount of money in the app's wallet and, for example, use that money to pay at certain affiliated businesses and establishments using QR codes. In this way, the government can control the money registered in the system and, therefore, the people who use it.
At the same time, the app has a spy system that reports on any unusual or strange activity, as well as a blacklist of registered people who cannot use the system. In other words, it is an application that adds to the control over the population in the South American country and that registered users use to play the game of the government.
