DSU Sideloader App Mods app for Android description
DSU Sideloader is a simple app made to help users easily install Generic System Image (GSI) via DSU's Android feature.
Requirements:
- Android 10 or higher
- Unlocked Bootloader
- Device with Dynamic Partitions
- A GSI you want to use!
You don't need root to use this app, however, running on non-rooted devices, requires adb (you will be prompted to run a shell script to invoke DSU installation activity). Rooted devices via Magisk, should be running Magisk v24 or higher, older versions may break DSU feature.
We highly recommend using this app with Stock ROM, Custom ROMs aren't supported.
How to use?
Install the app.
When you open the app for the first time, you’ll need to grant read/write permissions to a folder. Create a new folder and allow access to it. This folder will be used to store temporary files, such as extracted GSIs from compressed files.
Select a GSI to install.
The accepted formats for GSIs are gz, xz, img, and zip (only DSU packages are supported). You can customize the installation as you wish. For example, you can change the userdata size for a dynamic system. However, it’s not recommended to change the GSI file size manually. Let the app handle it automatically.
Tap on “Install”
Wait until the installation is complete! (It may take some time.)
Once the installation is complete, the next step may vary depending on the operating system and the mode of operation.
If the built-in installer is enabled, no additional steps are required.
If the built-in installer is disabled, you’ll need to enter rooted, system, or shizuku operation mode. In these modes, the DSU screen will appear, prompting you to confirm the installation. After confirming the installation, check your notifications. The DSU should then start installing the GSI.
If you’re using ADB operation mode, you’ll be prompted to run a command in ADB. Once you run the command, the DSU screen will appear, asking you to confirm the installation. After confirming the installation, the DSU should start installing the GSI.
Once the dynamic system is ready, you can boot it through notifications or, if the operation mode is supported, directly from our app.
