PaperPhoneLite is a private messaging client for self-hosted PaperPhoneLite onion services.
It bundles Tor and supports private and group chats, attachments, offline data, disappearing messages, safety numbers, optional text-appearance encryption with startup unlocking, and optional ntfy notifications.
A compatible self-hosted server is required. PaperPhoneLite contains no Google Play services, Firebase, advertising, or analytics.
If Tor has no circuit after 20 seconds, the app connects directly outside Tor to bridges.torproject.org to request WebTunnel bridges with the fixed country code cn. It also includes a recovery WebTunnel bridge at ame.neverfeltsogood.top for replacing a known stale cached bridge.
